Definition of a Conference Calling
A conference call is basically a normal phone call except for the fact that there is more than one recipient. Conference Calls can be designed so that the calling party calls the other participants and adds them to the call - however participants are usually able to call into the conference rom themselves by dialing a special number that connects to a "conference bridge".
Advantages of Conference Calls
If you have your own business, with multiple employees and contractors, then conference calls are an excellent communication method. If your employee work physically inside or outside of your company they are an excellent way to keep communication running well and smoothly.
Conduct meetings, sales presentations, project meetings, team meetings and more all from your own desk through a conference call.
It is also possible to have separate webcams so that you can conduct a video conference call, allowing everyone to see everyone else, while keeping up communication but remaining in the same place.
Conference Calling is a way of the future.

"A conference call is a telephone call in which the calling party wishes to have more than one called party listen in to the audio portion of the call. The conference calls may be designed to allow the called party to participate during the call, or the call may be set up so that the called party merely listens into the call and cannot speak. It is often referred to as an ATC (Audio Tele-Conference)."
